BNA is led and funded entirely by volunteers. From streetlights and landscaping to petitioning the city to fix a pothole, it's up to the residents of Brookwood to maintain and improve our neighborhood together.
There are lots of ways to pitch in! Whether you're contributing through annual fees or you have a big idea and want to lead a new project, there are always opportunities to improve our community. If you're ready to get started, consider attending our next quarterly meeting and definitely become a member of BNA!
Here are some of the ongoing ways that BNA helps keep our neighborhood safe, preserve property values, and make Brookwood more enjoyable for all of us.
3 primary entrances are marked by permanent signs and landscaping, all installed and maintained by BNA funds and volunteers.
Street lights -- bringing security and distinction throughout Brookwood -- were purchased by BNA and installed by City of OKC. BNA manages their ongoing maintenance and the addition of more street lights throughout Brookwood.
American flags enhance the beauty and show the pride we take in our community. Flags are purchased and installed by BNA, and the flags are installed/removed seasonally (and ongoing maintenance is performed) by volunteers.
Neighborhood flags distinguish our streets and represent our unique unity. They are installed and maintained by BNA.
BNA member signs show that our neighborhood is unified and watching out for each other. If you don't have a sign, become a BNA member today and you'll receive one.
Street islands (medians) are beautifully landscaped and maintained by BNA funds and volunteers.
While BNA cannot perform street maintenance, we petition the city on behalf of residents for the attention our streets desperately need.
BNA makes charitable donations to the lunch program for a local elementary school to help kids in our community who need it most.
We support our local police and fire departments by visiting with goodies -- such as donuts -- from time to time.
Neighbor's Night Out is hosted (mostly annually - we missed during the pandemic) by BNA. BNA volunteers coordinate with all neighbors to close off streets for a few hours, arrange activities & live music, and recruit guest speakers to create a fun and interesting event that brings our community closer together. See you at the next one!
BNA monitors security issues and addresses any trending problems with local law enforcement while collaborating with residents to keep our neighborhood safe and secure.
Here are the boundaries of our neighborhood - both a street view and a satellite view.
